Kema Guthrie – Sutton Walls

Parishes: Marden, Moreton-on-Lugg, Sutton St Nicholas

About Me

My late father Councillor John Guthrie first inspired me to stand for election in 2007. I was very pleased to be elected and then be re-elected in 2011/ 2015 as your councillor for Sutton Walls Ward.

I came to Herefordshire in 1990 after a career ranging from specialising in Dairy Herd Management to caring for severely handicapped people.

I challenged the proposed cuts to remove the second whole time fire engines at a recent Fire Authority meeting resulting in a proposal that saw the second permanently crewed fire engine for both Hereford & Worcester fire stations to be changed to the Day Duty System.

My priorities for Sutton Walls include: flooding issues, road repairs, policing issues, protection of the listed bridges, Moreton and Laystone (grade II star listed), arguing for restrictions on HGV usage in the Ward.

I will continuing to work with dedication in these challenging times of austerity with all parishes and residents for the best outcomes possible.

My hobbies include walking and jogging and in 2013 I ran a half marathon in aid of Herefordshire Vision Link.
